The Ugly Girl

To everyone, she was just an ugly face. People passed disheartening comments as she walked past. Her classmates refused to befriend her. Her parents were not only worried about her marriage when she grew up but also openly expressed their concern.
But there was someone who kept her sane amidst all this madness. She would go to the field to meet her friend and empty her heart out every evening. He listened to all her problems without interrupting, and gave advices too – in his own silent language.
But that one creature saw her for what she was. It was a street dog. (Not a pet, her parents won’t allow that.)
That little untidy creature taught her what the civilised, well educated society could not. Love.
